1. Irrigation pipeline for Naya Wathoda

60 farmers have formed a cooperative in order to join their small farms under 2 hectares, and have started the long process of creating the pipeline from nearby dam and canal to bring water to their parched land on the Deccan plateau. Microfinancing is being provided by KhadiOrganics with funds raised by Challenge for Change.

2. Vermicompost Shed

To convert back to organic methods, the farmers in Naya Wathoda have constructed a shed for vermicomposting, to replace the chemical fertilizers purchased at very high cost. Funds have been provided by KhadiOrganics.

3. Fence needed for Heritage Seed farm

Roaming animals are eating the plants needed to propagate the heritage seeds. Fence is needed and funds are being raised with the assistance of the Waterloo Regional Police Dress Down Days.
